Week 10 again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' mantra that attracts so many fans into the NFL

That result may have opened things up for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Was Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a bad day for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to answer

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the league's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores

Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard average

Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to seven points just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - not the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've seen this year

The Dolphins have served up a varied performances this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three eight and two squads in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the top team?

You can pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos

Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time success in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration

Their two defeats came in new head coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight victories, just like the Broncos, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was significant

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely deserves point for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his side to victory

The defense is solid and rookie rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his first score

Although you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a huge one against Buffalo

Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but face the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the schedule

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a long way to go but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the American Football Conference

Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Next Week Showdown

Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two before the upcoming major meeting between the two in Los Angeles

Both have won four in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a game

Both could easily be undefeated as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play blocked and run back by the Eagles for a score

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the final play of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the top teams in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year so far

Top Performer - Taylor
