🔗 Share this article Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients Prosecutors report that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care. The Grave Allegations Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021. One senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Investigation The charges follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital. Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January. Breakdown of Charges Prosecutors said the forty-five charges he is charged with: 15 counts of assault. Seventeen counts of penetrative assault. 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
