The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The effort seeks to provide aid to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced after a major charity concert held in September. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of artists contributing to Lullaby includes a selection of acclaimed names from the music world. All were part of the benefit event, which successfully generated a considerable total for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of talented individuals. The track blends a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The team running the campaign have clarified that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson said. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the territory was noted for its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions won't make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The song is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
