Trump Calls Loved Ones of Shot Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Incident

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump told journalists. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Community members assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in the capital.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators desired. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always willing to help others.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Policy Changes

Authorities have accused a 29-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The event led the administration to suspend refugee claims and halt issuing entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Wolfe

The airman, a resident of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit the family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
